Since 1 October 2019, SRH Berlin University of Applied Sciences consists of five schools at four locations in Berlin and Dresden.

In order to connect the students of the newly-merged university and to meet their fellow classmates, a group of students - from a wide variety of disciplines, university cultures and disciplines - travelled to the largest exhibition of contemporary art, La Biennale di Venezia.

In mixed groups from different schools and programmes they explored the exhibition. After selecting an inspiring art project, they got to know more about its background and tried to understand the meaning behind it. The students then made a connection between the artistic theme and their field of study. Finally, all impressions and insights were presented to the other students and discussed. The students and lecturers were enthusiastic about the cross-school format which will take place again in a similar way.
