Students share their experiences at SRH Berlin:
Jan Donaj talks about his digital agency
What company(ies) have you founded and how did it come about?
Besides studying and thanks to the free time during Corona, I decided to start my second company, a digital agency. We help companies create better websites and promote them. This means we not only take on web design and digital marketing as a short-term project, but proactively teach it to the companies. Our clients save money in the long run and can use their website independently as a tool.
How can you utilize the contents from your studies in your activity as a founder?
Especially the marketing modules, regarding market research and value proposition development, have helped me find a market gap and serve it appropriately. Besides the technical competencies, the skills in presentations and slide design have also given me a lot.
What do you like about studying at SRH?
During my studies, I had a lot of freedom to continue my education specifically besides the modules. The exam stress is spread out over the months, so there is always enough time to tackle your own projects and learn from them. I am particularly grateful for the close cooperation with the professors and lecturers - here I was able to make great contacts and took a lot from personal conversations.
Florian Buck talks about his own agency
What company did you found and how did it come about?
I founded my TikTok Marketing Agency klickkraft.de in 2022. This came about as I built a TikTok channel with over 100,000 subscribers at the beginning of Covid. Since many companies contacted me because of my videos, I decided to start an agency to support them in achieving their goals.
How can you use the content from your studies in your activity as a founder?
One of the most important qualities that supported me in my founding phase is social competence. Organizational skills and selling ideas were also important. In modules at SRH, I was able to refine my skills for this. Through constant practice of these skills in presentations and lectures, I was able to perfect them.
What do you like about studying at SRH?
Studying at SRH allowed me to gain experience as an entrepreneur and self-employed person parallel to my studies. Additionally, I was encouraged and supported by a competent environment, which was further enhanced by the small classes. Since I was in close contact with the teachers, I could turn to them directly with questions.
From theory to practice: Calvin's path from SRH Berlin marketing student to product manager
Calvin Ngu, a former student of the International Business with a focus on Marketing programme at SRH Berlin, shares his professional journey after graduation.
Four questions and four answers - Calvin Ngu:
After completing my Bachelor's degree at SRH Berlin, I took a GAP year, which I filled with two internships. These internships were very important to me in order to gain initial work experience and to get a feel for the working world. I did my first internship in Amsterdam at Deskbookers, a start-up. Here, I was able to experience and live the start-up atmosphere firsthand. Due to the small size of the company, I was able to work on many different and exciting topics. I then did my second internship in Hamburg at Lufthansa Technik. It was particularly important to me to get a comparison between a start-up and a corporation. This enabled me to weigh the advantages and disadvantages of both types of companies for myself. The internships also showed me that I have a strong interest in digital topics. Therefore, after my GAP year, I started my Master's degree and worked part-time as a working student in marketing at Amazon. Working in one of the most innovative and successful companies in the world was very motivating and instructive. However, after my studies, I was ready for a new adventure and therefore started as a Junior Product Manager at SPRING Axel Springer Media GmbH. As a product manager, I have a very broad range of tasks. My tasks include the creation of online campaigns as well as the creation of user analyses or billing reportings.
What particularly helps me is the ability to break down large tasks into small to-do's and approach them in a structured manner. The studies, but especially the work as a student assistant at the university, taught me to work in a disciplined and high-quality manner. It helped me a lot to work with the professors and learn from their experiences.
The Marketing program at SRH Berlin provides a very good insight into the world of marketing. Much practical work is done in small and large group assignments. This allows one to learn early in the studies how to apply knowledge practically. Additionally, the university actively supports you in achieving your personal goals, whether it's through counseling for a semester abroad or in choosing your career path.
It may sound very nerdy now, but just start learning early enough (2 weeks in advance) and you'll save yourself so much stress. It also helped me to do a little bit every day, instead of cramming everything in at the end.
Our study concept
Your studies are divided into 5-week blocks. During this time you focus on one management topic which you get to view from different angles. Thanks to this approach you can learn about real management challenges and strengthen the skills that employers are looking for.

- International Experience Track | 3.5 years duration (7 semesters): internship/semester abroad (6 months) + internship in the final semester (14 weeks) included
