Explore the possibilities
There are many different ways to spend a period of your studies abroad. Whether it's to study, do an internship, work on a research project or take a specialist or language course, we are happy to help you find your way abroad.
Sustainable university experience abroad
An individual stay at a foreign university can be the length of one trimester, semester or academic year. SRH Berlin University of Applied Sciences has partner universities all over the world, from Eastern Europe to North America, where you can study within the framework of exchange programmes. One of the most important requirements for success: careful and early preparation. We support you in the admissions process at the host university as well as in other administrative matters (visa, health insurance, etc.).
First stepsInternational job experience
With practical experience abroad you have an ace up your sleeve for future applications. Take the chance and complete an internship abroad during your studies! The length and payment of the internship can vary greatly. We will support you in your search for an internship and your application process. The International Office will advise you on funding opportunities.
First stepsIntensive short stays
Specialised courses such as summer and winter schools are very compressed learning programmes that usually last between 2 and 8 weeks. These programmes are a great alternative for you if you want to gain experience abroad without going abroad for a whole semester. You can find an overview of the programmes offered on the internet. The schools of the SRH Berlin University of Applied Science also have different summer school collaborations. Since the programmes vary greatly (duration, content, ECTS, fees, etc.), it is best to contact the International Office in order to get some advice.
Ask the International OfficeCommunication is everything
The best place to learn languages is where they are spoken: on site. The length of a language course can vary between one week and several months. It is worthwhile staying with a host family or at a student residence. This way you will quickly make contacts and learn how to use the language in everyday life. Registration for language courses is often possible at shorter notice than for semesters abroad and internships. You can find much more information about language courses abroad on the DAAD website.
Off to DAADExchange for teaching and administration
Getting to know another university, its structure, organisation and working methods, making contacts and exchanging experiences with colleagues abroad - whether as a staff week, an internship or as individual job shadowing - is always an enriching experience. The International Office knows what is available.
Expanding the faculty
In the context of a progressive worldwide networking and internationalisation of science and business, intercultural competence is increasingly the measure of all things, also in teaching and research. There are many opportunities for the establishment and development of international teaching projects. The form of the exchange depends primarily on the individual's own prerequisites and personal interests, as well as on the intended benefit for scientific knowledge gain. Our International Office supports you in planning your project. An overview of current research topics can be found on our research pages.
