About me

Diego Piñera is a composer, arranger and drummer who has been living in Berlin for over 20 years. He was born in Uruguay but has lived and studied in Cuba, Boston, and Germany. Taking influence from different cultures, he loves to experiment with rhythm. Piñera is an ECHO winner and Grammy and Deutscher JazzPreis nominee. He is also a drum teacher and part of the faculty for popular music at the University of Music in Dresden.
