About me

Dodo Vögler is co-founder and managing director of the strategy and innovation agency Ellery Studio in Berlin. She leads the foresight department with a focus on social innovation and participatory processes in transformation projects. She regularly gives talks on innovative communication and participation formats and advocates for the cultivation of creativity and imagination within change processes.

In 2017, together with Ellery Studio she initiated 'Speculative Futures: Berlin', a network and forum for exploring and presenting speculative visions and scenarios using approaches from design and foresight. It is Europe's largest community for speculative futures as well as speculative design and is part of the global network of the 'Design Futures Initiative'.

For her research paper 'Utopian Thinking in Policy Practice', Dodo Vögler was awarded the Futures Research Young Scientist Award of the Netzwerk Zukunftsforschung in 2020. She has also received national and international awards for her creative work (including finalist: Fast Company's World Changing Ideas Awards, finalist: Spiegel Social Design Award, winner: Malofiej Award, dpa-infographic award, European Design Award, ADC Award).

Dodo Vögler studied futures studies at the Freie Universität Berlin (M.A.), design thinking at the School of Design Thinking at the Hasso-Plattner-Institute as well as design media communication at the Fachhochschule Dortmund and at the University of Plymouth (B.A.).

Since 2018, she has been teaching future studies in the strategic design master's program at the design academy Berlin, SRH University of Applied Sciences for Communication and Design.
