A photography exhibition entitled prima materia took place in the rooms of the Berlin School of Design and Communication.
Students of our Polish partner university PWSFTviT Film School Łódź present numerous photographic works to the public, accompanied by a comprehensive exhibition catalogue.
The curator Magdalena Franczuk on the exhibition concept:
"The title refers to the alchemical term prima materia...
...and names the first substance mentioned in the creation of the philosopher's stone or gold...
...The exhibition prima materia tells of the path of self-discovery, the search for a relationship with space, the determination of identity and the exploration of the imagination...
The authors are students, graduates and doctoral candidates of the Faculty of Photography at the Leon Schiller State University for Film, Television and Theatre in Łódź...
... they focus on a subjectivizing way of seeing, an expression of individual relation to the surrounding reality."
